Greenply ZERO EMISSION
Greenply has always been at the forefront of innovation in the plywood industry
Till 31 March 2024, Greenply has planted around 41 Million+ saplings covering an area of nearly 51,000 + acres and plans to plant 50 Million saplings by 2025. The organization is focused on promoting massive plantations which will help with the sourcing of raw materials for its consumption and usage, as well as the conservation of natural resources. Greenply’s investments in plantations are helping it nurture the sustainability-led growth model. The model is built on a long-term perspective of uninterrupted raw material supply for its products and steers the all-encompassing development of its farmer community. Furthermore, the company aims to achieve raw material self-sufficiency while promoting its sustainability and inclusive growth efforts.
We are using a 4:1 strategy, where we plant four young trees for every one tree that’s harvested. It has resulted in the cumulative plantation of 24.85 million saplings, covering approximately 31,471 acres of land. Besides, we source timber from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests to promote sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation.

We encourage large-scale plantation of different plant species
that are used for the manufacturing of our products. This initiative
has allowed us to nurture over 12 million seedlings and transform
more than 14,000 acres of land into thriving forests. The entirety of
our raw material base, from timber to fuel wood, is sourced from
these agroforestry initiatives, thereby safeguarding our natural resources and contributing to our vision of a sustainable
manufacturing process.

We actively distribute high-quality clonal plants to farmers to
enhance raw material productivity. Our team of experts provides
regular advice to farmers, recommending land-specific clones
that maximise yield. We also promote intercropping, a practice
that optimises land use and increases crop yield

We invest in energy-efficient technologies and aim to utilise
renewable energy to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse
gas emissions. Our adherence to ISO 50001 energy management
standards enables us to continually monitor and improve our
energy usage, thereby contributing to climate change mitigation.
We have sourced a sizable portion of energy from renewable
sources such as wind and solar, specifically for our Medium Density
Fibreboard (MDF) unit. This shift enables us to tap into cleaner and
renewable sources for our energy needs. Additionally, we
introduced electrically charged vehicles and forklifts capabilities
reducing our dependency on traditional fuel motor vehicles. This
blend of solar power and electric mobility demonstrates our
dedication to incorporating renewable energy across various
facets of our operations
Our commitment to environmental responsibility reflects in our revolutionary E-0 plywood, setting the benchmark in emission control. The Tizit factory houses a dedicated unit that manufactures this exceptional grade known for minimal formaldehyde emission. Carrying the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Certification from the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), their E-0 emission standard products guarantee superior indoor air quality for safe and healthy breathing. In 2020, they proudly launched CARB-certified Zero Emission plywood, solidifying their dedication to global environmental compliance. Additionally, Greenply actively tackles climate change through sustainable forest management and plantation activities, reducing emissions and ensuring a greener future.
